Problem found.  Quantum SNAP server hung.  This caused the shares mount points /P1 & /userbaks to be in limbo.  The nightly backup got stuck trying to figure out physical disks from shared mount points.  The backup never completed and therefore never restarted the DataFax daemons.

I killed the Backup. 

DataFax daemons started.  You can use DataFax now.  All received faxes during this time are queued for processing. 

I am investigating the problem with the Quantum SNAP server. 

If I can get it running, I'll restart a manual backup.  Note: Manual backups don't stop the DataFax daemons. 
If I can't get it running, I'll have to disable those shared mount point & reboot the server to keep this from happening again.
